Use a ratio of at least 4-to-1 water to rice Heat water to boiling. Rince rice in a strainer under cold running water for 30 seconds. Add rice to boiling water and stir once. Turn heat to medium and boil, uncovered, for 33 minutes (add a few minutes in high altitudes). Pour rice into a strainer and let drain for 10 seconds. Return to pot off heat and cover tightly for 10 minutes to steam. Fluff with fork and season to taste with salt.
